Mindful Minute
Slow down, please, for just a minute.
Pay your closest attention to whatever surrounds you.
What are you experiencing?
What catches your attention?
Colors? Surfaces? Shapes? Lights? Sounds? Scents?
Which of these draw you into the present moment?
The one you feel on your skin? Breeze? Sunshine? Raindrop? Tiny insects?
Your clothes? Where are they tight? Where are they twinging? Where are they silky, smooth and comfortable?
Your body? Where does it hurt? Where is it heavy? Where is it burning? Where is it tense? Where is it cracking? Where is it light and easy? Where is it loose? Where is it free?
You can even make changes if you like. Slowly, with a fine movement. Lean over. Touch something. Pick it up. Embrace it. Try something else! Stand up! Look up! Stretch up! Watch how the change affects you. Take your time. Feel the difference. Observe whether it is better for you this way.
And now fully surrender yourself to this experiment. Let your senses flood you with multitudes of impressions, let your feelings owerflow, experience the present moment in its true completeness.
Pass your glance around slowly, take a sniff, listen and hear, lick and swallow, stand on, fall into...
You have arrived. You are there, where it is good for you.
Here and Now.
